Redwood Technical Data Sheet: Pitch Bleed

Unlike some other wood species, Redwood is relatively free of pitch and resin. However, when exposed to high temperatures, such as in a South- or West-facing outdoor exposure, some minor pitch bleeding may occur or Redwood surfaces such as decks, siding, trim, or fascia.
