Following the September 2015 announcement that FSC is now the only EPA recommended standard for lumber and wood in federal purchasing, the Forest Stewardship Council has been contacted by the US Department of Energy, asking for a list of lumberyards and building supply stores that can sell FSC-certified wood and lumber into federal construction projects.

If you are interested in being included in the list FSC provides to the US Department of Energy, please email the following information to info@us.fsc.org:

  • Name of the lumberyard or building supply store
  • Location(s) of your store(s)
  • Contact person with email address and phone number

Please only include information for companies with valid FSC certificates. If you are uncertain if your company is FSC certified, you can check at info.fsc.org.

In recognition of the important role the federal government plays as the nation’s largest purchaser, the Forest Stewardship Council US sent a letter of thanks to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy and Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz.
