In addition, pressure-treated lumber has the environmental advantage of wood. A renewable resource, wood from well-managed forests is grown and harvested in a responsible manner. This means the wood used today to manufacture pressure-treated lumber is continually replenished in healthy forests every year. And, because the treatment process extends the useful life of the wood, structures made with pressure-treated lumber remain in service for many years.

The preservative in Wolmanized® Residential Outdoor® wood is a formulation of copper azole (also known as CA-C). The primary ingredient in CA-C is copper, an effective fungicide. As some fungi can tolerate copper, an additional co-biocide is needed to control them. The two azoles in CA-C are tebuconazole and propiconazole. When used together, these azoles are more effective than the sum of them used separately. This combination was granted a patent.
