Redwood Garden Structures

Beautiful backyards start with Mendocino redwood garden structures. The warm red and creamy yellow hues and natural grain patterns in redwood lumber are unique to each and every board. This means that no two redwood garden structures look the same.

If you are thinking of adding a redwood garden structure to your outdoor space, but are not sure what to build, the below descriptions of some of the most popular projects may be helpful.

Gazebos

One of the most versatile redwood garden structures you can build, gazebos have universal appeal. A redwood gazebo can provide a sheltered space to enjoy a family picnic, play host to a formal wedding, or house a relaxing hot tub. And, because redwood is so workable, your gazebo can be as simple or elaborate as you wish to make it. Decorative touches such as a tiered roof, intricate railings, or lattice work can all be achieved with nature’s own building material, Mendocino redwood.

Arbors

Another popular redwood garden structure is the arbor. The basic elements of a redwood arbor include a pair of posts or a series of paired posts, topped by a cross piece or other assembly that connects the space between the posts. Redwood arbors typically add visual interest to an outdoor space, but may be functional as well. It is common for redwood arbors to incorporate a gate or built-in seating area.

Trellises

Trellises are redwood garden structures that play a supporting role. Often constructed to support climbing vines and plants, redwood trellises can be as small or large as you wish to make them. In addition to supporting plants, redwood trellises do a wonderful job of blocking unwanted views and camouflaging problem areas, such as unattractive concrete block or chain link fences.

Planters

A discussion of redwood garden structures would not be complete without mentioning planters. Redwood planters are a very popular addition to outdoor spaces. Redwood planters may be incorporated seamlessly with a redwood deck design, or built as stand-alone structures.
