Decking: Cumaru Deck Boards
MFP is proud to offer Cumaru, a beautiful South American hardwood decking material. that has been certified according to the standards set forth by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Extremely dense, Cumaru is naturally impervious to rot, decay and termites. Because of its density and strength, Cumaru can be installed up to a maximum 24 inches on center. Most other decking materials require installation up to 16 inches on center or less. Depending on the application, this translates into less materials required for the deck substructure, and a potential cost savings.

Cumaru is kiln dried to a moisture content of 10-12%, and surfaced on all four sides. Prior to installation, it is recommended that the product be allowed to equalize at the job site to the ambient moisture content. For additional installation recommendations and instructions, please download our "Installation Guidelines" brochure (PDF file* 116KB)
MFP strongly recommends the application of Anchorseal, an aqueous wax manufactured by UC Coatings Corporation, to the ends of boards immediately after a cut is made. This will ensure board stability and prevent cupping and severe checking of the ends. Please visit the manufacturer's website for more information. The Material Safety Data Sheet for Anchorseal can also be downloaded here. (PDF file* 192KB)
